I've wanted to do a blog like this for awhile but completely forgot about it until I was driving home yesterday from work listening to x96 and their list of things that must go. I must admit that's my favorite part of their morning radio show and I quite enjoy it. And so-here goes...
1. Sonic 1/2 price drinks from 2pm-4pm. This isn't actually a bad thing, what's bad is that they double the amount of ice that they put in the cups, therefore you actually aren't getting a full drink for half price, but a half drink for half price, thus, where is the savings?
2. The price of gas...enough said
3. People who rush into the post office and get all ticked off when they see a long line and then huff and puff around about it. It's the post office, the line will be long, expect that and deal with it. If you don't like it, go to a UPS Store or Postnet store, you'll pay more but at least you won't have to wait in line and we won't have to deal with you.
4. People who use cardio equipment and lift weights at the gym in flip flops. You'd think that if you can afford a gym membership you could afford a pair of gym shoes.
5. Larry H. Miller movie theatres where you can eat regular food while watching a movie. Sure, this is great in theory-but when you're trapped in a darkened theatre with a mixture of smells that don't go together-like egg rolls and popcorn, there may be another smell added to the mix-you know what i'm saying....
6. People who misuse/mispell there/their and you're/your. And speaking of words, the words 'yummy', 'treats', and 'moist'.
7. People who say you are sinning for drinking caffeine. It's not in the Word of Wisdom, it's not a question in the baptismal interview, I don't care if your brother's wife's friend's sister heard about a bishop who wouldn't give temple recommends for drinking it, it's not a pre-req for temple entrance. I don't think you're a more spiritual person for not drinking caffeine. I drink Diet Coke without fear of eternal consequence. The only problem I see with it it is the amount of sodium it contains makes my feet swell so that by the end of a 3-4 day stretch of shifts I can't fit my feet in certain shoes.
8. People who ask me why I'm not dating/married. That's kind of like asking someone who is trying to get pregnant why they can't get pregnant-do they always know the answer to that? And so all I can say is I don't know why and I'm not worried about it, so please don't ask and let me happily live my life and enjoy my work, friends, traveling, spending money the way I'd like, living where I'd like, not having to answer to anyone, etc. All things I won't be able to do as easily once I am married if that happens.
9. People who get mad when they get pulled over for speeding. You know you were speeding, you know there was a chance you'd get pulled over, admit you were in the wrong and pay your ticket and be more watchful in the future.
10. Girls who know they are thin (smaller than a size 12) and yet complain they are fat all the time just so they can have their BFF's tell them how unfat they are. I mean they can go on and on and on and on. My favorite is just to let them complain and not give in and comment and just let them go on. Inwardly it kind of makes me laugh.
11. The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Is it just me or do they always pick the least logical choice? I also hate the way they are always looking for a 'connection'. 'Connection' is code word for good sexual chemistry, not necessarily something that makes for a last relationship, which is why only one bachelor/bachelorette couple has even made it to the altar.
